St Andre de Najac
Ideal for sightseeing, Le Combal is situated at the edge of the picturesque medieval village of St André de Najac in Aveyron, Southwest France. St André de Najac village has a village shop, a post office, a lively bar, and a popular farmhouse restaurant / terrace café serving traditional local cuisine. |

Laguepie
This pretty market town has striking castle ruins towering over the confluence of the Viaur and Aveyron rivers. The small food market on Sunday mornings offers fresh local produce. The town also hosts a flower festival in the spring and a chestnut festival in the autumn. |

Cordes sur ciel
Not to be missed and also awarded "one of the most beautiful villages in France". This fortified medieval village is on a steep hill and as its name suggests
appears to be reaching up to the sky. At the top an impressive towering covered market place is surrounded by restaurants, craft shops and a large number of art galleries and gift shops. |

Najac
Najac has been long awarded "one of the most beautiful villages in France" It is a medieval "bastide" village with an impressive fortress. It is our nearest tourist attraction less than 10 mn drive north-west from Le Combal. We recommend walking through the pretty streets and climbing the ancient tower. Najac boasts many good regional restaurants, cafes and interesting craft boutiques. |

St Antonin Noble Val and the Aveyron gorges
This pretty medieval town lies on the bank of the Aveyron river surrounded by rocky outcrops. The Sunday market is very lively in the summer offering local products & crafts. Caves and the stunning Aveyron gorges can be found nearby. The ruined castle at Penne is astonishing & Bruniquel castle is also worth a visit. |

River Viaur
The River Viaur is a wild trout river just a few minutes down the hill from Le Combal. It is perfect for picnics, paddling and ishing. There are places for rock climbing and walking alongside the river. There is also a jazz café ‘La Châtaignerie’ which serves crêpes, salads and amazing ice-cream deserts with live music most evenings. (Open from noon till midnight in the summer.) |

Gaillac wine region
Wine tasting & vineyard visits are available in the nearest wine region of Gaillac just 25 mn drive south. The vineyards start at Cordes-sur-Ciel and fill the landscape towards the town of Gaillac.
Caves at Foissac near Capdenac or Pech Merle in the Lot near St-Cirque-Lapopie are also very impressive and worth exploring. |

Villefranche de Rouergue
20 mn north from Le Combal is the larger town of Villefranche de Rouergue with its popular regional market. Here the old language of Occitan can sometimes be heard. Its cobbled streets, town square, unusual church portico & bell tower are all worth visiting. It has all the big shops and superstores surrounding the town. Villefranche holds regular antique fairs throughout the summer months. |
